If a hair transplant in Turkey doesnt accomplish or fails somehow, can it be undone / fixed? What's the most likely and MOST COMMON adverse scenario and the remedy for it? Lets not get too crazy with casting doubt just to divert sales, and make it seem totally unsafe. I'm looking for objectivity and realistic answers please. Thank's very much.
Answer: FUE NeoGraft Hair Transplant Thank you for your question, ValleyBoy. I do not suggest traveling to Turkey in order to have an FUE NeoGraft Hair Transplant. Instead, you should consult with your board certified facial plastic surgeon here in the States as the treatment is permanent.Best wishes,

Answer: Revision of a Bad Hair Transplant We see patients who come to us for a revision hair transplant on a regular basis in our Los Angeles and Beverly Hills Offices. Some has gone to other places to save money, some done it by inexperienced doctors and a few done by good cosmetic surgeons who only do hair transplant on the side rather than as their main occupation. The answer to this question is not simple unless we know what kind of problem the hair transplant has. There are several common problems that we see in our revision cases. If the revision is needed due to the bad design, we can move some of the transplanted hair to the new areas. This is not always simple but doable. At times we see bad hair transplant that has caused permanent loss of the donor area due to poor technique and lack of knowledge of how to approach hair extraction for the specific type of hair. This is the most horrible type that does not leave us much to do. Everyone has a limited number of hair that could be harvested and transplanted. If they are lost we cannot find new hair at least with our current technology.

Answer: Non USA Transplants Cant really "undo" a hair transplant. Long term solutions would be to try and fix or camouflage the existing issues. This could be impossible if for instance your hairline was designed to low. Your best bet at a natural hairline and result is to make sure it is done right the first time. Otherwise the cost will be much greater in the long run. Immediate complications range from small infections, pain, skin loss to extreme rare issues which could land you in the ER. I would discuss these issues with at least your primary care physician before you proceed as finding backup when needed may prove difficult. ThanksSteven Brown, MD

Answer: What are the issues with having hair transplant surgery abroad One of the main problems with having hair transplant surgery abroad is what happens when things go wrong or don't live up to expectations. The answers should be made clear prior to having surgery. Who will see you? will it be the doctor who did your surgery (assuming it was a doctor who did your surgery)? where will you be seen? who will pick up costs incurred in dealing with complications or sub-optimal growth? will you have access to your medical records? etcThe decision to have surgery in Turkey is often made on a financial basis because it is so much cheaper than other parts of the world but it is important to factor into the budget return fares, hotels etc if you need to return to see the doctor again.

Answer: Things that go wrong in Turkey with FUE These FUE transplants of 4-6000 grafts probably reduce your donor supply by as much as 80% for life. Most of the time this can't be fixed unless you need a very small amount of hair in another procedure; however, one solution that works is to shave your head and get scalp micropigmentatin done. It solves the depleted donor area common with these large hair transplant FUE session and can create a very nice look. If you have other problems like infection, scarring, etc.. you will have to find a local doctor that is willing to work with you or someone like me that takes on difficult cases. See below in the web reference
