Augmentation can be with diced cartilage alone. Many surgeons use fascia to have better contour and definition. Some use biologic adhesive which works well. Diced cartilage needs something to hold it together. Fascia is a tried and true way of doing this. Tissue glue has been used recently and has good success rates 2 years out.
