Would eye filler help with the “hollowed” under eye look. How long would it last? Also is there any type of peel that might help with wrinkles in the forehead and eye area? Botox needs to be repeated so often I would love to find something that might be longer lasting for these areas. Thank you so much!
Answer: Age and fillers You absolutely can get filler treatment at 71 years of age! Fillers in that area typically last 9 months to a year. You will need to be evaluated to ensure that is the right treatment option for you. For overall improvement in skin tone and texture you can consider FaceTite and Morpheus8 treatments which work to tighten skin and stimulate collagen production. See a board certified plastic surgeon near you to learn more.

Answer: Morpheus 8 Hi @Katherine87590. No, you are not too old to get fillers at 71 years of age! Fillers in the tear trough last 9-12 months. I recommend an in-person evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate. In addition, Morpheus 8 is a great treatment. Morpheus8 is a non-surgical treatment for full body skin resurfacing, skin tightening, and fat reduction of stubborn areas. It uses minimally invasive fractional radiofrequency energy (RF) to penetrate the skin deeper than other microneedling devices, triggering the skin’s natural healing response to promote skin tightening and lifting. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

Answer: What is the best age for tear trough filler? Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, it is difficult to make a recommendation without at least a few photos of the area. I can tell you that you are not too old for filler and if that is the right treatment for your specific concerns, you should see a very nice result. I typically inject this area using a blunt-tipped micro-cannula rather than a needle, to minimize post-treatment bruising and achieve the most natural result. Another option for rejuvenating the area under the eyes is laser resurfacing, which is excellent for removing fine lines and improving skin texture. Some patients may benefit most from a combination of these procedures. I recommend scheduling a consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon who can assess you in person and tailor a treatment plan to your precise needs and goals.

Answer: Under eye concerns Hello and thank you for your question. We would always recommend a face to face consultation to get an accurate idea of treatment however in this case yes under under filler/tear trough filler would be a good option that would last over 1 year. Peels are certainly a good option for the skin and can help in this area. I hope that answers your question and please always seek a qualified and experienced medical professional for treatment, best wishes

Answer: Too old for dermal fillers? Hello Katherine. We have patients as old as 90 for dermal fillers so I guess you are never too old! For the fine lines and wrinkles that develop as we age and are not appropriate for Botox or filler, we use laser resurfacing (see link below). This is an excellent procedure and many of our patients between 55 and 75 have undergone the procedure. Between laser resurfacing, dermal fillers and Dysport/Botox, there are always options to create a more youthful appearance.
