Encapsulated breast leaking yellow to clear oily substance

Question

Ok so my left Breast is encapsulated and has been since 4-6 months post op. I had them done March of last year. Yesterday for some odd reason I squeezed my nipple and my left breast had an oily substance come out of it. Then I squeezed my right boob which is not encapsulated and a little bit of milk came out it, my youngest child will be 3 in August. Also for the past few months my left breast has been hurting a little bit?

after augmentation can happen but your suggestion that your implant is contributing directly to this is unsubstantiated.  See your surgeon for an evaluation of possible causes and also about what options you have for your 'encapsulation'.

It is unusual to be able to express fluid after everything has healed. Best to see your PS for a clinical examination. If things don't settle I would recommend an ultrasound initially to see if there is any fluid within the implant cavity / breast.

It is difficult to say with certainty what may be going on with your breast implants.  However, from your description, I would not ignore the problem.  Have your plastic surgeon see you ASAP.  They may want you to get an MRI scan if there is any question of a leaking or ruptured implant.  Best wishes, Dr Lepore.
