Is weight gain after implants normal?

Hello, it is not uncommon to have temporary weight fluctuations after surgery due to fluid retention, constipation, change in exercise habits, etc.  However, breast implants should not change your metabolism.  You could discuss your weight gain with your doctor in the context of your general health, diet etc.

It is not unusual to have weight fluctuations following BBA's. Firstly your implants will make up 720g of the additional weight = 1.6lbs. Then you will have the days of post recovery where you wouldn't have been as mobile and then the additional fluid that you would need to lose. Implants don't affect metabolism but having a general anaesthetic and surgery does - but only temporary. Enjoy your implants and I'm sure the weight will readjust itself. Don't worry.

Thank you for your question.  It is very normal to gain weight after breast augmentation surgery usually do to retention of intravenous fluids that are administered during surgery and postoperative fluid retention.  However any weight gain caused by your surgery should be lost in the first 4-5 weeks after surgery.  If weight gain continues I would suggest a follow-up with your plastic surgeon for an examination.
