Donor site still tender 4 weeks after facial fat grafting? Any suggestions?

I had facial fat grafting to my cheeks 4 weeks ago, my tummy was the donor site and it still hurts when I stand up or get up in the morning - it's fine after a few minutes of being on my feet. Its not red or anything and not that tender to the touch, it feels as if it contracts when I sit or lie down. Is this to be expected after such a small amount of lipo?

Thank you for your question.  The amount of liposuction is typically small for facial fat grafting.  Donor site complications and pain are not common.  That being said, you may have some nerve irritation that can last for many weeks.  You hit the main points about redness, drainage and tenderness to touch.  These are signs of infection. Try massaging the area and if it doesn't improve, certainly bring it to the attention of your surgeon.
