Dermal Filler after injection for chalazion?

I usually wait at least a few weeks after any eyelid surgery or procedures to fix a stye or chalazion before I perform any tear trough or eyelid fillers.  A stye or chalazion involves an infection and/or inflammation in the area of the eyelid.  Once this has completely been treated and both the infection is gone and the swelling is done, it would be safe to get tear trough fillers at that time.  I wouldn't want the periocular (around the eye) infection to "seed" the filler and cause a bigger infectious process.  Also, the inflammation from the swelling associated with the stye or chalazion must calm down or else there will be some false periorbital swelling that makes it difficult to decide how much filler to use.  Hope that helps.

Best to treat the chalazion first and heal before doing eyelid filler in same area. The chalazion may need to be drained if persistent.

I would recommend waiting to get dermal filler until your chalazion resolves. Inflammation from the chalazion can distort your final results from the filler. You are also at a higher risk of infection by introducing filler material into an inflamed area with bacteria. For chronic chalazions, you may want to have an in-office evaluation to consider having the cyst removed. After the removal, you can have filler placed confidently after it has healed.
