Is center of my nipple going to correct after Full breast lift surgery? Uncentered on areola/completely flat after lift (Photos)

Thank you for sharing your questions and photos on RealSelf.com.  Not an unusual concern during the healing phase of a breast lift.During a lift procedure, the circle that is cut around the areola is made with a metal round 'cookie cutter'.  Due to the tightness of the repair, sometimes the stitches beneath the skin on one part of the areola pull more than other stitches.  Thus, a round areola will look oblong as in your case.  The good news is that many of these areolas will improve their shape as healing continues (up to about six months).  Those that do not can be easily improved with an in-office procedure.  However, you need to give it adequate time to heal.The flatness of the nipple is also from the tightness during healing and should improve slowly over time.

Dear bfina001,it looks like there is some asymmetry but overall you should be satisfied with the result of your surgery. It can take up to 4-6 months for the breasts to fully recover from the surgery and only then you will be able to see the final results. You are doing very well following above surgery; just be patient and allow at least three months for everything to settle out.

You are relatively early following your surgery and are still healing. It will take some time for your breasts to settle out, for the swelling to god down completely and for two sides to even out. Massaging your breaststroke to help them settle out more quickly. When you still have open wounds in the skin, your breasts may be swollen from the wounds as well. They may swell differently on each side, and cause your breasts to look different. Have some patience and discuss your concerns with your surgeon. If any assymetries persist, including your nipple issue, it is all correctable later, once you have healed.
