Can Botox on upper lip line move after kissing?

Question

I had Botox this previous morning at around 9 am on my upper lip line to flip the lip up. Now at about 12-1 am my boyfriend has vigorously kissed me/made out with me, with me having forgotten about the treatment since it was so minor. Will any of my Botox migrate/move from the rubbing and pressure and cause my upper lip to droop (the opposite affect desired)? Am I in the clear? I’m very worried as I know Botox can take 3-4 months to wear off. Thank you!

There is no reason to worry. The neurotoxin effects and results depend on the dose, distribution and injection technique. Restrictions on activity are unwarranted. Kissing will not change anything!

You should not have any lip drooping after the kissing. You will not see the final effects however until 2 weeks after the injection.

First, thank you, this goes down as my favorite answer title I have ever gotten to post. I would not worry about the Botox migrating from the kissing. If injected into the upper layer of the orbicularis oris muscle you should be in the clear. In fact, Botox can sometimes have a little quicker onset of action from repetitive muscle movement of the target muscle after injection. I even tell my patients they can make funny faces on the car ride home to get the nerves firing and take up the neuro-modulator (if you ever see someone making crazy faces in the car, they may just have had Botox ;) ). Botox is used to relax particular muscle which causes dynamic lines, for example for frown lines it is injected in three small muscles. after botox injection we recommend not to touch that area for four hours as it can move botox to next small muscle, which has a different action, so might cause complications
but the treatment you had was around mouth , there is one mucsle goes around the mouth so touching or kissing that should not cause any problem, as action might  move it but it will still be the same muscle. I hope this answers  your question

Generally the dose of Botox for the upper lip is very small and the risk of adverse effects from kissing would be very small. Botox will naturally migrate after injection and that fact is considered with the calculation of dose and inject site for each patient. We generally tell patients not to rub the treated area to avoid excessive migration of the Botox but this is more of a concern with larger doses in the forehead or around the eyes. Given the small dose required for the upper lip it is unlikely that the kissing will cause any adverse effects. You should be just fine.
