I'm a female and I have a wide forehead and temples and I know there's alternatives like hairs transplant and hairline lowering. However, can I use Botox to shrink the temple muscles?? If not, is there any other procedure to help reduce your temples. Maybe liposuction??
Answer: Botox and temporal muscles Botox does not cause muscles to atrophy; You can inject Botox for many years and it does not cause the muscles to atrophy. Once you no longer inject Botox, the muscles resume their normal function. Also, it does not affect the underlying bony structure. With aging, it is common to see a hollowing in the temporal region. This can be improved with temporal injections of HA fillers, fat, or temporal implants. There is a concept of the "triangle of beauty" and that begins with a wide projection of the temporal area and zygomatic bones. In most cases, a wide temporal region is associated with a more youthful appearance. Best.

Answer: Botox to shrink the temples Most definetly yes, botox can shrink the temple muscles. Typically 15U on each side will work for up to 6mo. It can have some minor affect on the strength of your bite, especially if combined with botox to the jawline (these are the two main chewing muscles). I would caution against doing this for most patients because atrophy of the temples is usually unattractive and can make one look aged.

Answer: Botox in the temples Botox can be used in the temples to shrink the temporalis muscles, but it won't change the temple bones, so it depends on where you are wide as to whether it will help. If you are wide up high in the bony area, then Botox won't help. If you are wide where the temporalis muscle is, then it may. Also, it will take a significant amount of Botox to do this, and it will need to be repeated every 3-4 months. An examination would determine whether liposuction in the area could help, but it is doubtful. If you have a receding hairline and that is giving you the look of a wide temple, then follicular hair grafts would be your best option. Answer: The Temple Resolution--Botox and/or Fillers Yes, you can use Botox to decrease the size of the temples. This can be used in combination with filler to the forehead or jawline to give you a more proportional face and thus making the temples less noticeable. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: BOTOX® can be injected in the temple area but will not change your hairline or bone structure. Over time, a skilled plastic surgeon can use BOTOX® injections to reduce the size of your temporalis muscle. This can make your temples appear smaller and less prominent. However, no injectable or filler can change the location of your hairline nor can it alter the size or placement of your facial bones. Having an in-person consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon in your area can help you determine what can be achieved using medical spa treatments.
