Outer eyebrow too arched after Botox? What to do?

Question

I had Botox done 7 days ago for the first time. the outer parts of my eyebrows are more arched making me look harsh, my eye puffy and swollen a bit with makes my eyes much more hooded and when I raise my eyebrows only the outside lifts which makes me look like Spock.I got injected with my mom in law and sister in law and both look fine. I had 20 units in my glabella and 5 units accros my forehead lines. What do I do? Can someone please help? I don't know what to do?

Hello. Thank you for your question. It can take approximately 2 weeks to appreciate the full effects of your botox treatment. This issue may resolve on its own by that time. If not, visit the your provider and a few units can be used to relax those over active brows. Hope this helps!

Arched brows are easy to fix after a Botox treatment.  Just returned to the doctor who did the treatment and he/she will injected you with a touch up of Botox on the lateral sides of your forehead to help bring the brows down.  Good luck

Thanks for this question. That lateral eyebrow raised is sometimes referred to as the Mr. Spock look. I suggest you speak with your injector 2 weeks after your procedure and consider a small amount of Botox or Dysport to drop the high arch. Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

This is such a great question and very common. I would suggest two things:

1. Wait for another week or so as the muscles may need more time to rebalance and settle. It can take 2-4 weeks for the Btx to deliver the final result in many individuals. After this time your brows maybe the shape you're looking for.

2. Revisit your treating practitioner and they may add a small amount of Btx above the brow to reduce the severity of the arch. But beware, if this is done too aggressively or prematurely, it could drop your brow too far.

However, in good hands you will be fine :-)

For a first time Botox patient it's a good idea to return your provider for a 2 week follow up. This allows your provider to assess your treatment outcomes, hear your concerns if any and the opportunity to correct any problems. The lateral brow lift can easily be corrected with a small amount of Botox placed in your forehead above the arch of the brows. The swollen hooded eyes are most likely misplacement of  Botox  (too high)  in the  glabella area causing the forehead muscle to drop too close to the eyes.  An experienced provider can place a minute amount of Botox under the medial brow that will help raise this area.  Fortunately all will resolve in 3-4 months as the Botox wears off. Hope you and your provider solve your issues and you enjoy the results of your treatment.
