Can Botox be the reason behind deep vertical lines in the forehead (close to the hairline)? (Photos)

43 yr old male - noticed 2 deep vertical lines in my forehead. I did Botox mid July and a touch-up 1 week ago. The doctor is telling me these are sleep lines and have nothing to do with Botox, he insists that the problem is my bad skin elasticity. I am not very convinced because they are deep, wide and feel like a hallow cavity in the skull when you touch it! I am really worried and confused. Appreciate some feedback on what exactly is the problem and the best treatment to fix it!

A combination approach would give the most improvement. Movement lines and superficial wrinkles improve best with botox, dysport or xeomin.  Fine wrinkles need lasers like clear and brilliant, fraxel, halo or erbium or co2; radiofrequency like venus viva or intensif, fractora/morpheus, microneedling RF; microneedling with PRP and stem cells; aquagold treatment; or soft fillers like belotero, restylane silk or refyne, revanesse versa, or juvederm volbella.  emeragecosmetics at home dermarolling MTS 0.5mm roller + anteagemd ampules help with weekly at home treatments.

Thank you for sharing your question and photographs.  This may be due to sleep lines, or the edge of your muscle, or animation of your forehead but this can only be determined during an in-person examination where various facial movements can be done.  Seek out a second opinion.

Generally, sleep lines do not occur on the forehead but along the cheek.  these appear to be lines resulting from action of the frontalis muscle over the foreheads and should respond to Botox.  be sure to see a board certified and experienced dermatologist

Hello and thanks for your question. If you can palpate the indentation is the frontal bone then this could be due to volume loss. They could be exacerbated by sleeping however if they are due to volume loss then filler in this area can help.
