Can Botox to the forehead make your forehead get bigger over time?

I agree with all the previous answers. The foerehad height will not change with Botox. Aging changes the forehead, mostly because the hairline receeds and second becuase the skin gets more lose and the brows may drop. Using botox can keep the brows in a higher position and then the forehead looks younger.

Nope! Your forehead will not increase in size over time due to Botox. As you get older, the forehead does get bigger and there’s often hair thinning that can increase forehead length. Best wishes. Dr. Aldo

No, you will not get a bigger forehead by getting Botox injections. Botox only relaxes muscles so that you donot develop wrinkles or diminish their prominence once they are formed . Has nothing to do with increasing the forehead.

Dear lsp8888,Botox is generally an on off switch for muscle activity. I get a fair amount of actors/actresses in my practice that are looking to reduce wrinkles but keep some expression. Finding an experienced physician injector is your best bet.Most of patients see first changes after 4-7 days and the final results after 10-14 days.It depends on the amount of Botox and area where it is injected but it usually last for 3-4 months. Thank you for your question. No, Botox will not make your forehead grow bigger. Botox works by blocking signals from the nerves to the muscles. Thus, the injected muscle(s) can no longer contract, which causes the wrinkles to relax and soften.

Botox does not make your forehead physically grow longer/bigger over time.  While its possible that your brows may drop with relaxation of your frontalis muscle (giving the appearance of a longer forehead), this can be avoided by not injecting the Botox in the lower aspect of your muscle, thus preserving some function and avoiding the complication we call "brow ptosis".  As always, seek proper consultation before treatment and best of luck!

Botox will not make your forehead get bigger over time. If you have are constantly elevating your eyebrows even if you are not aware of it, then your forehead may APPEAR larger when the eyebrows relax however that does not mean your forehead is actually larger. Hope this helps!Johnson C. Lee, MD
