About 30 years ago during dental surgery I was given Scoline (Suxamethonium) during general anesthetic. I experienced Apnoea due to a lack of the enzyme cholinesterase, which metabolizes the drug. Given that Botox is a muscle relaxant, I am wondering if it relies on the same enzyme to metabolize in the body? I’m guessing at best it would last longer, but am wondering what the possible more serious consequences could be?
