Can 455 cc moderate plus provide you with as much projection as a 400 cc high profile since the moderate is a bigger implant. In essence can going with a moderate plus profile give you same look as high if a tad bigger?

You need a formal evaluation by a licensed plastic surgeon and expert in breast augmentations to determine what is best for you and your goals.Proper breast enlargement is not a "cookie-cutter" procedure where the same technique is applied to every patient. Every woman who comes to my practice has unique needs and different goals for her breast augmentation. As a board-certified plastic surgeon, I always listen carefully to each woman's concerns and thoroughly discuss the key points of the procedure. I also take into account their overall height and weight, the size and shape of the underlying chest and ribcage, the tightness and elasticity of the skin, and the amount of natural breast tissue. Prior to the procedure, we discuss and make decisions regarding location of the incision, whether to place the implant under or over the chest muscle, and what type of implant to use (I offer multiple types of silicone gel breast implants, as well as saline implants).

This depends on the brand we're referring to. Different brands have different projections. Your Doctor who has suggested this implant to you, will be able to explain how the implants will project.

Hello, technically a large moderate profile implant could provide as much or more projection than a smaller high profile implant.  Your surgeon can readily determine the projection of each implant for you based on their catalog (the exact brand is required to do this).  Depending on a person's breast dimensions and other factors, sometimes a moderate profile implant is a good option even for patients who are seeking more fullness and projection.  This is an excellent topic to discuss with your surgeon since they will know important information like your breast width, tissue thickness and skin tone.

perfectisit10Photos and physical exam are optimal because I try to tailor each breast augmentation operation to my patient's desires and body type. There are pros and cons regarding saline and silicone implants, and patient anatomy and preference play a role in selection. The same is true regarding implant projection. Moderate plus implants are usually an excellent choice. High profile implants are fairly narrow and must be carefully fit to your particular anatomy. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon and go to your consult with all your questions written down so you don't forget to ask something. Thank you for your question and essentially you are right.  With that said, I always perform a 3-d simulation for all of my implant related cases in order to show the patient the possibilities of different sizes and profiles.  I think that would take the guessing game out for you.

The short answer is no, it will not give you the same projection.  The high profile implant still will have significantly higher projection than the moderate plus even with the extra 55 cc. These are part of the analysis that we go through with our patients during the preoperative visit along with several other factors that we look at when determining the ultimate implant for our patients.I would recommend you see a board certified plastic surgeon for a consultation to discuss your options.Hope that helps.

Breast implant type and sizing selection is a complicated process and requires a detailed consultation that includes a discussion of your goals, a detailed examination, and a lengthy discussion. But the decision will always start and end with the patient. When it comes to sizing, we have all of our patients find 3 photos of their desired breast size. We ask for naked breast photos because clothing can obscure the true size (push up bras). Next, we consult with patients and go over the photos and take detailed breast measurements during a physical exam. Next, we using a sizing algorithm to determine a range of implants that will work based on the exam and the measurements.Lastly, during the operation, we use silicone sizers in the operating room to see how the size actually looks in the breast. We sit the patient up in the operating room, while asleep of course, and compare the sizer result with their desired look photos. If it is too small, we start the process over with a slightly larger implant. We don't stop until we get the perfect match.Of all of my breast augmentation patients, every one of them has been happy with their size due to this detailed and meticulous process. You don't want to invest time and money into a result that is either too big or too small.You should discuss your concerns with a board-certified plastic surgeon and make sure that your surgeon understands your goals.

Thanks for your question!  Unfortunately, the dimensions of a moderate plus profile and a high profile are going to be very different.  In order to achieve the same projection with a moderate plus profile, you'd likely have to choose a much larger implant.  Make sure to have a conversation with your plastic surgeon about your goals and he/she should be able to guide you in the decision making process.  Best of luck!

There are a variety of implants available that will give a slightly different result.  There are two different shapes.  One is round and the other is teardrop (with the top being thinner than the bottom).  Another option is profile.  This refers to how "tall" the implant is.  A high profile implant will give you more projection from the chest wall than a moderate plus.  Your board certified plastic surgeon is essential in helping you select the correct implant for you based on your measurements and your surgical goals.  I like to use sizers during surgery to help my patients get as close to their goal look as possible.
