10 weeks after my augmentation and donut lift and I noticed this opening, should I be worried? (Photo)

So everything has been going well. My right breast has dropped but my left one is taking longer but I’m not worried since this is normal. However, I just noticed this open wound around my nipple, where my stitches are. I’m not sure if necrosis can still happen this late in the game or what exactly it is.

Hello,You need to have suture material removed by your surgeon. As an aside, it may not be normal that one implant has not dropped after implant placement through a nipple incision (much higher risk of capsular contracture). Go visit your surgeon to remove retained suture, and to take comparative photos to see if there is any progress, and to ask surgeon to evaluate for capsular contracture. Best of luck.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination but based on your photo, it looks like a spitting suture. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.

Congratulations on your surgery.  From the photo, it appears that you may have a spitting stitch with is not an uncommon issue that can arise from the procedure.  It you can feel something kind of sharp or snagging on your bra or clothes than that is likely what it is.  The sutures are usually absorbable but it can be an irritation and the wound can continue to weep and remain open until the suture dissolves.  For that reason I like to simply "pluck" out the stitch in the office and place antibiotic ointment over the area until the wound closes, which happens very quickly.I would recommend you see your plastic surgeon.Hope that helps.
