Thank you for your question! I suggest you wait a full year before having your second procedure to let all tissue heal and swellling to go down! Best of luck!Dr Dhaval PatelDouble Board Certifed Plastic SurgeonChicagoHoffman EstatesOakbrookOrland Park
Having the BBL done a second time is an option as long as the patient has enough fat to be transferred. You will usually need at least 3 months before getting a revision. The revision implies that there is less fat than the first time, and scar tissue will make the surgery much more difficult on the surgeon. The percentage of fat survival in the BBL the second time should be about the same.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Dear mymargaret, you should be fully healed from your first surgery before you get another elective procedure. Most plastic surgeons will recommend you to wait at least 6 months. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Typically, 3 months would allow for the swelling to subside and fat resorption to take place, as regular liposuction may eliminate up to 50% of your fat deposits. In order to maintain fat viability, VASER liposuction could be performed, allowing up to 90% viability. If you are a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL), the optimal outcomes are achieved with: 1) use of VASER liposuction to harvest the fat, 2) a closed looped system such as Puregraft to process the fat, and 3) strategic micro-packet transplant technique. These three processes have demonstrated over 95% fat graft take. This means that your results will be stable as long as you maintain your weight. As an official VASER trainer, I am routinely referred unhappy BBL patients. One of the most common reasons for disgruntled BBL patients is that patients are not able to accurately communicate their desired buttocks goals to their surgeons. A buttocks assessment tool can be an invaluable tool to communicate to your surgeon the exact buttocks size and shape you are desiring. A Skype or Facetime consultation with a BBL specialist can help you get an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully,Arian Mowlavi MD,FACSRealself 100 Hall of Fame Inductee
You need to wait some time for the initial surgical inflammation to subside. In my practice I wait 3 or more moths before performing a second BBL and have found this period to be satisfactory.
Filling the areas will probably yield a more favorable result than any attempt at liposuction or using Kybella.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
Indents are often composed of scar contracture or tightened retaining ligaments. A board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in BBL or BBL revisions, and fixing botched BBL procedures, can use vibratory cannula fat grafting injections, along with power-assisted liposuction (PAL) and a b...
Hello, thank you for your question. Too early to judge on the final result, you are still at the healing stage. This will take two or three months to settle, wait until then to determine if you want to consider a revision.
