A properly executed facelift lasts a lifetime. Seldom do patients need to have this operation repeated. I would get several opinions before signing up for a one stitch facelift.
Type of facial rejuvenation procedure is an outpatient procedure which attempts to gather and lift the face through a small incision in the sideburn area. It can be useful for very minimal improvements and it requires little downtime. However if you have significant laxity, jowling of the jawline, sagging neck skin, then this approach is limited in its success.
Haven't heard of this surgery, but any facelift with only one stitch will involve minimal dissection and minimal results. I am assuming that this always means a cost savings. Save your money and when ready do the real thing .
There is a wide variety of procedures for facial aging. The right procedure depends upon the degree of aging that has occurred. I am not familiar with a one stitch facelift but minimally invasive lifts are typically most appropriate for people with minimal aging along the jawline and a nice, taut neckline. I hope this information is helpful.Stephen Weber MD, FACSDenver Facial Plastic Surgeon
Hello 'davies60', thanks for your question. Although I am not familiar with this 'one-stitch facelift' technique, it sounds like another bogus surgery provided by self-proclaimed cosmetic doctors who are not board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. There are many gimmicks out there designed to trick the unsuspecting public and take their money. Anything 'one-stitch' will probably not last longer than a day. I would warn you to not get tricked into sham surgeries like this and to trust your face only to a board-certified plastic surgeon who is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). I encourage you to do your homework and check the credentials of every surgeon who you meet. Good luck!-Dr.92660
A comprehensive face/ neck lift involves tightening excess facial and neck skin, tightening the jowls and SMAS of the face, tightening the neck muscles in 3 locations, and removal of fat above and below the platysma muscle in the neck. Obviously, there is no way that this can all be accomplished with one stitch. For many examples of face lifting in our practice, please see the link below to our facelift photo gallery
I am not familiar with this technique. The name does not give me confidence in the longevity of the procedure. The key to longevity is making sure that the SMAS layer is anchored in the proper position using a suture that gradually dissolves. This allows the SMAS to thoroughly heal and provides the strength for the lift. It is hard for me to imagine how a single suture could accomplish this.
Dear davies, thank you for your question.Facelift surgery can dramatically improve thecheeks, temple area, jawline, and neck. Consult with a board certified facialplastic surgeon who can offer a variety of options. Good Luck!
I can't give you an number for how long this procedure will last, but I can advice you to have very low expectations in terms of how much improvement you will get and how long this subtle change will last.
"One-stitch" facelift is a relatively very small procedure performed under local anesthesia. It consists of an excision of a crescent of skin in the region under the temporal tuft of hair. No undermining of the cheek is performed. I would recommend this type of a procedure to someone with early, limited changes in the lower face and neck. I would not anticipate a duration longer than two years. However, this type of a procedure could be repeated again once the skin and soft tissues become lax again. It could also be combined with fillers and other rejuvenation minimally invasive procedures.Best of luck.
Thank you for your question about your face lift.I am so sorry you had a complication from your face lift.I can see how troubling it can be -You have a lot of internal swelling - it should get better, not worse with time.Internal scars improve but it is hard to hurry the processMassage,...
Limited changes in the shape of the face is possible primarily by working on the shape of the jaw and chin. Liposuction of the cheeks can reduce the round nature of this part of the face. Chin implants help in some cases and injection with fillers can have a limited effect. To better answer your...
