How long should you stay in compression after Smartlipo?

I generally advise my patients to wear compression 24/7 for two weeks, then at night only for an additional 2 weeks. It's always best to communicate with your plastic surgeon to find out what he or she recommends. Each of us is different with our requirements. As they say, if you get 2 plastic surgeons in a room, you'll get three opinions.

compression garments for at least two weeks after their procedure. This helps
bring down the swelling as much as possible. I've had quite a few patients wear
them for longer in the past because they like the extra support

Usually, the larger the amount of fat removed, the longer the compression garment needs to be worn. For a full abdomen and flanks, 4-8 weeks is routine for most people. However, the time frame is highly individualized and generalizations are not accurate.

I suggest wearing the compression garment for at
least one week only removing it to shower; if you can wear it longer it will
only help your results. The compression garments are made to help control any
swelling that may occur. Good luck with your results!
