Hello, I'm looking to correct multiple issues with my ears. I believe I have a deformity called Darwin's ear bump and they also stick out immensely. I'm hoping both issues could be fixed and would be interested in knowing if my health insurance would cover the surgery or not. Thank you in advance!

Answer: Ear deformity correction Thank you for your question. Both the tubercle (sometimes called Darwin's tubercle/Woolner's tubercle) can be corrected in the process of also correcting your protruding ears. All health insurance plans are different and different rules exist in different parts of the country. I would recommend you see a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in congenital ear deformities to discuss options and the possibility for insurance coverage.
