Getting COVID vaccine should not interfere with your breast reduction surgery. But I would also discuss your concerns with your Plastic Surgeon as well.

Your dates indicate that you had the initial dose of the COVID vaccine on 12/27/2020 and your surgery is scheduled for 2/1/2021. Unsure why you are asking if you should get it prior to the BR, as it appears you already have received the first dose and will receive the second dose prior to the BR. If you do not present with any adverse reactions to the second dose, you should be able to proceed with the BR. Recommend that you discuss this with your board certified PS.

every plastic surgeon has his own preoperative protocol which he recommends to his patients. I don't think that your plastic surgeon will postpone your surgery. I would suggest you to discuss this with your plastic surgeon.

You should get the covid vaccine as early as you can. Even if it means postponing your breast surgery. You will probably be able to proceed with the surgery as scheduled. Just let your surgeon know.

It should be fine to complete your COVID vaccine prior to your scheduled surgery.  It is always best to discuss this with your surgeon, but you should be able to proceed with both as planned.

Thanks for your question! I would definitely recommend getting your second vaccine because it is ineffective without it. That being said, you may exhibit symptoms after the vaccine, and that could possibly interfere with your surgery. You should call your plastic surgeon and see what they suggest. Good luck!

I currently advise all my patients to get the vaccine if offered regardless of proximity to there surgery for the first dose. For the second dose I tell patients if it is possible to schedule it so that they don't get it within 48 hours of their that would be advisable only because it can cause some headache and fatigue around 12-24 hours, but it is not an absolute contraindication within that window. Hope this is helpful.

I strongly suspect that your physician will advise you to proceed with appropriate vaccination for COVID19 when it is available. I do not believe that your physician will discourage you from having your elective surgery after your second dose.
Discuss this concern and timing issues with your plastic surgeon.  In Colorado, COVID19 testing is commonly required before elective surgeries.  This is both for your safety and all those you come in contact with during your surgical experience.
