How long after BBL surgery do I have to start getting massages? In Columbia, its the 2nd day after surgery.

Thank you for your question. Every surgeon will have his/her own preferences as to recovery for specific procedures.  It's best to follow your surgeons specific advice post-operatively. After surgical procedures scarring occurs due to collagen build-up and skin remodeling. We recommend massage to our patients in the acute healing face, usually weeks 1-2 post-operatively and as needed thereafter for any trouble spots. That said, you definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety.  A key quality indicator is Board Certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.  Don’t settle for less than a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.

I suggest my patients to try the lymphatic massages, in must cases, two or three days after surgery, to get the best results.
