My nipples are still puffy 1 week post-op, is this just swelling?

Since puberty i had puffy nipples and very large areola size when i reached 19 i made a surgery bbut only gland removal and then after a week the nipples are still puffy and large areola size but with little protrusion and no lump under the nipple will i live all my life with my nipples extremly large in areola size with notice that the right nipple is more puffy and larger areola

It is way too soon to see your final result. Swelling can last for several months. If after all the swelling has resolved and you still have a large areola it can be reduced as an office procedure. Good luck.

I appreciate your concern, but after only one week from surgery, you are experiencing normal swelling and this will resolve with time. It can take as long as six months, so try to stay patient. Follow up with your plastic surgeon. Good luck.

Good day, thank you for your question.  Gynecomastia surgery can take up to 6 weeks for the initial swelling to dissipate, it is too early for you to properly assess your results.  Only at 6 months will you be able to see the final look, at which point you can consult with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss any issues that be still be present.All the best

you need to give things like a puffy nipple close to a year to fully resolve. you are way too early to assess this. The areolar diameter, if you feel it is too large, can be reduced in size in the office, under local anesthetic, after everything heals up.david berman md
