I had Voluma and now have hard lumps under the skin. Any suggestions?

I suggest a combination approach to get rid of the lumps or improve them.  They are likely late onset inflammatory nodules and need to be decreased before turning into scar.  Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your questions.  Voluma is a filler that is placed deeply within the skin to avoid it from being felt. Occasionally, depending on the amount placed, you may be able to feel the filler for a couple of weeks after injection, but then it usually becomes less noticeable.  If you have developed firmer nodules under the skin, there is a medicine that can be injected, called hyaluronidase, that can help dissolve these, but may also cause loss of any positive effect that you obtained with Voluma.  I would definitely continue to follow up with your injector, and voice your concerns if you are not obtaining the results you want.  They should be able to guide you on a therapeutic plan to improve your outcomes.
