Liposuction garment drama - clothing doesn't fit over foam vest.

Hi, in my opinion, there is no need to use either lipofoam or ab board, a binder or garment is best. Follow the instructions provided by your plastic surgeon when moving forward through the healing process and make sure you get plenty of rest and treat the incisions well. I hope your concern was addressed. #RealSelf100

Foam vests are great in maintaining the shape and decreases the risk of seroma or fluid accumulation after liposuction. Will it ruin the result if you don’t wear it for a few hours at work? It depends. If the amount of liposuction is large or if the fluid accumulates rapidly, then I suggest wearing it 24/7.

Every doc has their own protocol in terms of post operative treatments.  As you can see on this forum, every answer has given a different recommendation.  Follow your surgeon's post op protocol.  There is likely reason's  he/she like one way vs another.  

Post op garments are critical to success in my opinion. The padded vest, helps reduce swelling and prevent indentations caused by compression garments. If you are struggling, then you should see your doctor's nurse or the surgeon themselves, but in my practice I would insist that you wear the vest and one garment over it. 

Removal of foam at one week is a No NO NO ! You will only delay your full recovery and delay your optimal results.
