I'll be Getting a breast reduction on the 29th of July and I want to know when I'll be up and active. I have a celebration party booked for me on the 14th of August and was wondering if I'd be recovered and safe to attend by then.

Answer: You can attend your party i have you up and walking the same day after a BR. i have you shower the next day. You can go up and down stairs immediately. i let you start light exercising about 2 weeks after surgery and you should be able to progress rapidly after that. you can return to work in 10-14 days. you may still be a bit tired after any major surgery for several weeks so it may be 4-6 weeks until you are 100% but you should be 85% there by the end of 3 weeks.good luckDavid Berman MD
