I got my cast and stiches removed yesterday. The nurse said that is no sign of infection and healing will just take time. I did notice a gap in the incision line which the nurse dismissed that but I can definitely see it... Are these gaps usually filled with tissue during the healing process making the skin smooth again? I know there will be some scarring no matter how good I take care of my incision but a gap does seem like it will make permanent scarring more prominent.

Answer: Will the gap in my incisions after an alar base reduction heal spontaneously
Hi and thanks for your question! I unfortunately don't know anyone in your area but alarplasty or alar base reduction can be done by any surgeon who is familiar with rhinoplasty. You should go consult with a surgeon to make sure alarplasty is right for you and whether you need other pieces of...
You can just have the alarplasty. This is a relatively short procedure. Patients typically don’t complain of pain. It is not uncommon for patients to go back to work in a day or two. I hope you find this information useful. For more information please watch the enclosed video.
You have a few options here. Just performing alar wedgevresections us simple and can be done under local anesthesia. The tip plasty is likely to be quite more involved as well as pricey . I think either one is a reasonable option in your case.
