Around 30% of my back and sides are white, so when transplanted do you know if there's a chance they may regrow as my normal colour. Many thanks
Answer: If it's white, it will stay white If your transplanted hairs were white when they were harvested, they will be white when they grow back in the recipient area. Remember that the transplanted hair will retain the same genetic characteristics no matter where it is transplanted on your head. This is why we use hair from the permanent zone (back and sides of the head) for hair transplants because they are genetically programmed not to fall out.

Answer: FUE transplanted hairs are white, will they remain white? The white hairs will remain white after transplant. The pigmented hairs will retain their pigment, but if they were destined to turn white with age they will likely do so in the future.

Answer: Transplant Hair Color The color of the hair when it was taken should stay the same after the transplant. If your doctor took white hairs for transplant then they'll grow white in the recipient area, and if your doctor chose hairs that were your natural color then that's the color they'll grow in as.

Answer: Hair transplant Thank you for asking this question. No, there is no chance that they will change its colour, properties or characteristics. Hair transplant involves just relocation of hair from the donor area to the recipient area and nothing else. Therefore, if the harvested hair root from the back of the scalp is black then even after transplanting in the recipient area it will be the same. Good luck! Regards, Dr. Amit Gupta

Answer: White hairs in transplant Hairs will most times retain their color when transplanted. However, with PRP treatments we are seeing patients regain melanin to their hairs so patients are growing hair in after a hair transplant and PRP treatment at their original natural color.
