FUE donor limit before looks too bare?

I've had 2 procedures 12 months apart amounting to 5500 grafts which have worked out really well on the top; fortunately, my donor area doesn't appear depleted. How many grafts on average can one have before the donor area becomes bare?

Depending on the size and density an average donor area can provide up to about 6500 grafts before thinning becomes apparent.

The average grafts that can be harvested depends on many factors. The average Caucasian male can have approximately 3400 grafts harvested using FUE or 6200 grafts with FUT.

This depends on your donor site density, scalp laxity and FUE vs. FUT.  For FUE you may me maxed out.  If you've had FUT procedures, you may have more grafts available.  This can be determined on exam.
