Filler has still not faded in my nose after nearly 3 years- is this fixable? (Photos)

Question

I’ve provided pictures as you can see my nose is still larger and round from the filler and I don’t have my natural definition which I had before filler. My face has completely changed- is this permanent? Is the filler still there or has permanent damage been done? I want it back to how it was before I messed around with it.

The reason I say this is that in your second photo, we can see thin skin and your underlying tip cartilage through the skin. If there were filler, I would think that the definition of your tip cartilage would be less. Digital photos rarely tell the whole story. If you feel like there is still filler in your nose, the dissolving enzyme, hyaluronidase, works within 2 to 3 days. Thank you for your question. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph

I'm sorry you're experiencing this.  The answer depends on which filler was used.  Hyaluronic based fillers such as Restylane and Juvederm are unlikely to last that long.  Other longer lasting fillers such as Radiesse or Bellafill can last up to 3-5 years.  I've seen Silicone used in the nose as well and that is permanent.  Assuming it is a HA based filler, you should be able to have it dissolved.  I hope this answers your question.

If you were treated with hyaluronic acid filler you can return to your injector and have the remaining filler dissolved.  Fillers should not cause permanent changes and typically are metabolized gradually.

If you had hyaluronic acid filler in your nose it can be dissolved with Hyaluronidase. This is the antidote to Hyaluronic acid fillers and can dissolve what's left over 1-2 sessions.
