thanks for your question .Some of the fat will still be viable for fat transfer but some of it could have been damaged.Discuss your options with a Specialist Plastic SurgeonRegardsMr Giorgio Netri
It is best to schedule an appointment with a board-certified plastic surgeon for an in-person examination. It is hard to advise without photos. The site where fat will be taken also would be examined and the possibility of the success of the operation would depend on the amount of fats needed and amount of fats available from the donor site.
It is not difficult to remove fat from a previously treated area if it is done with VASER liposuction. High definition liposuction is the gold standard of treatment, and should involve VASER, PowerX liposuction cannulas, and Cool Helium Plasma skin tightening for best results.
In general, liposuction can cause scar tissue, no matter how long ago it was performed. The best option is to harvest fat from a "virgin" area if it all possible. This way, you are assured that the fat cells are extracted from an area that has a vibrant blood supply, and therefore are healthy fat cells to begin with. Consider harvesting fat cells from your middle thighs as an option, if the abdomen area has had previous work done on it.Best of luck!Windell Davis Boutte', MD
A qualified plastic surgeon will need to examine the potential donor site to determine how much (if any) fat is available. The chances are good that this area can be used as a donor site but needs a face to face exam to confirm. The attached video will provide more information about liposuction and the best time to proceed.
