I recommend following up with your Doctor about your compression garment and their recommendations. My patients wear customized compression after liposuction. Burns need hyperbaric oxygen and silicone gel with growth factors to promote healing. Under normal circumstances I have my patients wear a garment for 3-6 weeks. In this instance, you really need to be followed by a surgeon who can properly advise you. He may not want you to wear a garment.

I believe the majority of the benefit to your result form the compression has passed. You need to establish a relationship with a physician in your area to manage the burn. The skin loosening and following off is part of the process and should not be blocked. As you clearly understand now, undergoing surgeries geographically remote form your operative surgeon does not allow you to have access to his personal attention and support when complications occur.
