Effects of weight gain after chin liposuction? (Photo)

Question

I had chin liposuction about three months ago and am unhappy with the results. I still have a noticeable pocket of fat under my chin, and am finding it difficult to tell whether it has improved from before to immediately post-op to now. I gained about three kilos since my surgery - would that have affected the result? I am only 21, and I was born with the fat in my chin. I am an average weight person otherwise. If I lose the weight will that resolve the result?

Chin liposuction removes the excess of fat located between the chin skin and the neck muscle called platysma. It doest not removes the excess of fat located bellow the platysma muscle. In most cases this procedure helps to get rid of double chin.
If significant weight gain happens after chin lipo (eg. 3kg or 6.6lbs) of course the results the chin lipo will be affected. Why? Because the fat that cannot be removed by chin lipo ( fat under the platysma muscle) goes thus causing a double chin again.

You may still have some swelling impacting your results, but weight gain can impact your results. I recommend following up with your surgeon about recommendations for improvement. Kybella may be a good alternative. Hope this helps.

It depends on how much weight you have gained. 3 months post-op is still a little early to conclude your results. You may still be experiencing swelling. Chin liposuction removes present stubborn fats, but weight gain and fat accumulation will definitely have an effect on your results.
