It appears as if someone took a small chunk out of my helical rim of both my ears. Can this be fixed? (photo)

It is possible to reduce the prominence of this by perhaps adjusting the area around it. Please seek a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in cosmetic ear surgery.

Tough problem but probably the best aesthetic solution would be to not try to add tissue to the area where the chunk seems to be removed, but rather to trim and taper the helical rim below the chunk removal area.  An experienced Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon with considerable ear reconstruction experience should be able to help your ears out on this one !!!

Thank you for your question. It is difficult to make an accurate assessment and recommendations based on photographs alone. I recommend you seek an in-person consultation with a facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon who can perform a thorough evaluation and discuss with you the best treatment options. Depending on the size of your defect and how much neighboring cartilage you still have, you could be a candidate for an otoplasty or ear surgery to minimize your ear deformity. It would likely make your ear slightly smaller. 

It may be very challenging tusk to reconstruct helical rim! In person consultation with board certified plastic surgeon with a good reconstructive background is recommended. Good luck.

The best solution if you want to improve ( not fix ) this dent would be to trim a little of the helical rim above and below. This could be done under a local anaesthetic minor op.
