Is there anyway to fix the fact that my own breast tissue is slightly hanging off my implants? Surgeon says no. And only recommended a lift if the nipples end up pointing downwards, which they are not. Thanks
Answer: Breasts You did not post photos so I cannot be specific. usually there are two reasons why breast tissue hangs off the implants. One, the implant is sitting too high and the breast sits lower, or the implant is in a good position and the breast sags, or both reasons exist. You can still have a lift if the breast tissue is sagging.

Answer: Breast augmentation The implants and breast tissue are not aligned. This can happen after a breast augmentation and ptotic breast tissue. In most cases a breast lift is necessary to lift the breast tissue over the implants.

Answer: Release the inframammary fold or lift the breasts Breast tissue hanging off the implants is known as waterfall deformity. One way to fix this is to lift the breast tissue and another way is to lower the implant. Lowering the implant requires releasing the inframammary fold and this can cause bottoming out. The lift technique I recommend is The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained if not injured during your previous surgery. Best Wishes, Gary Horndeski, M.D.

Answer: Breast augmentation outcome To make an accurate assessment regarding the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure we generally need to see a complete set of proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before, and after pictures, then ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took. Women who have breast ptosis, should consider having a lift in conjunction with breast augmentation. When looking at before pictures if your nipple is at or above your inframammary fold then a Lyft may not be indicated. If the nipple position is lower than the inframammary fold, then same type of lift is usually needed. It could be important to get an assessment to confirm that your implants are in the anatomically correct position which could contribute to this as well. Consider getting an in person, a second opinion consultation. Best, Mats Hagstrom, MD
