Am I healing properly? 4 days post CO2. (photos)

It is hard to tell from the pictures and I would also need to know your exact CO2 laser settings to know how aggressive a treatment you received. Since it has only been 4 days I would not worry too much about this redness and swelling but it is best to make an appointment to see your provider who performed the treatment. Try to soothe your skin with a vinegar soak. Use one capful of apple cider or white vinegar to 1 cup of water and apply with clean gauze. Best of luck with your healing!

 Depending on the depth of treatment, the healing time can vary from a few days to a few weeks. Definitely follow up with your doctor as to your healing and skin care. Every provider has different suggestions as to what to use topically.

Hello and thank you for your question and photos. Healing is greatly dependent upon the depth of the CO2 treatment and how you heal as an individual. Patients are typically red and swollen for two weeks and can remain red for a longer period of time. Continue to be diligent with your post-operative instructions.  From what can be seen on the photos that you attached, you look like you are healing properly with a very even treatment. Be patient with the healing and diligent with the post-operative instructions. Hope this helps!

It's hard to tell if you are healing correctly without knowing the laser settings for your treatment. Redness and swelling are common after fractionated CO2 treatment and can take 1-2 weeks to noticeably improve. I would followup in person with your treating physician. Keep the skin moist and out of the sun. Vinegar/water soaks will help.

The intensity of your treatment will contribute to your healing time and result. Be sure to follow post care instructions carefully. Using topical ointment to keep the area moisturized is imperative. Patience is key with any treatment recovery period, if you are unsure you are healing as expected, follow up with your provider.

It would appear that you are healing well. Time will ultimately tell, though, so regular visits to your surgeon are best for you to know whether the healing is going well. You should get a good result.
