Hello, I’m wanting to have a gastric bypass done but Im worried about having excess skin. I had a TT & bbl in 2020 (my pre surgery weight then, was 176) my weight has always ranged from 190-175. Im 32 years old and currently weigh 181 and I’m 5’ 2. Although I Iove my Tummy Tuck results I do want to loose about 30lbs. Will I have l lots of loose skin? My abdomen is nice and tight I’m just a little on the thicker side and am going for the thinner look.

Because of your body mass index of 33 you would be a candidate for a gastric sleeve, and not for a bypass, the bypass is for morbidly obese patients with a body mass index above 40

Loose skin after weight loss depends on a few factors: how much weight you lose, the quality and elasticity of your skin, and your age. Since you’re 32, your skin likely still has some elasticity, which is a good sign. Your previous tummy tuck means that the skin on your abdomen is already tighter, so you may see less loose skin in that area compared to someone who hasn’t had the procedure. However, with a weight loss of 30 lbs, some loose skin could still show up in other areas like the arms, thighs, or back.
Because your goal is to lose about 30 lbs &mdash; not a massive amount compared to those who lose 100+ lbs &mdash; the risk of excess loose skin is lower. Also, since your weight has stayed relatively stable (175-190), your skin hasn’t been stretched to extremes, which helps too.
If loose skin is a big concern, you could discuss this with your surgeon. Sometimes, they can combine body contouring procedures with bariatric surgery or plan follow-ups if needed.

Exercising can help you maintain muscle or even create muscle, thus reducing the risk of having "a lot of loose skin."

From the photos I can say you almost will not get loose skin after gastric bypass. You will reach your ideal body and be thin without loose skin mostly. The tummy tuck appears good nd stretched.

You definitely don't need Gastric Bypass.You could look into non-surgical options like medication or gastric balloon.But to answer your question, you probably will not have any problem with loose skin, since it all looks nice & tight!

Hello, I hope you are well. Based on the metrics you provided your calculated BMI would be 33 would classifies you as Obese type I. In order to determine which type of bariatric procedure you are eligible for you would need to be evaluatd by a cetified bariatric surgeon. However, I can tell you you most probably would not meet the criteria needed for a gastric bypass. This does not mean there are not other options for you. I would recommend you are evaluated for a gastric balloon or a gastric sleeve.
