I had my lip fillers corrected last night as a previous doctor had left my lips uneven. I had them fixed last night with 1ml over top and bottom. After being in extreme pain over night I've woke up like this. Please tell me this will go down. I'm devastated
Answer: Pain and Swelling Post Filler Injection My suggstion is you go back to your treating physician immediately. Pain and excessive swelling is not common of soft tissue fillers to the lips. You may need the fillers reversed and/or treated with steroids and antihistamines to calm down the inflammation. Pain is a sign of a more serious problem after fillers and is best treated by a formal evaluation and treatment plan. Best, Dr. Emer,

Answer: Swelling after lip injections Thank you for your question and for sharing your experience. Swelling after lip injections is very normal. Icing during and after the procedure definitely helps with swelling reduction. If you feel swollen, then I would continue to ice on and off for 5 to 10 minutes every hour for the first day or two. it should take several days for the swelling to fully come down. If you have concerns, I would return to your injector who can help guide your further .

Answer: Lip swelling Hey, don't worrythe swelling will definitely go down. Take some Motrin and apply some cold compresses throughout the day. It's also good to open and close your mouth as this will also help to lessen swelling. Do not massage directly on the red lips as this can move the product around. You can gently massage the "white" skin just above and below your "red" lips starting from the middle outward to facilitate lymphatic drainage of the lips.the good news is that they look symmetrical and the proportions of the upper and lower lip look correct!!Good luck, you will have some great looking lips!!

Answer: Lip swelling after a filler! Thank you for your question. Swelling is a recognised feature after lip fillers. Divrei if swelling can depend on a number of factors including the type of filler (high or medium or low density) injected and the amount injected. The first two days after the injection can be worse but begins to subside although in some cases it take a little longer. I would apply ice to it gently for a day or two and if not resolved get in touch with your practitioner. If however you see the colour changing and turning black and becoming very painful call your doctor urgently. Best wishes, Dr Zokaie, London

Answer: Swelling after lip fillers. Thank you for sending in your photograph. Without knowing what product was used it is difficult to comment with any certainty. However swelling and pain are known side effects of lip filler injections, and some patients will experience this to a greater degree than others. In your own case as you have had lip filler injections before (and presumably did not experience such pain or swelling) and so you may wish to contact your treating doctor and explain your concerns. In extreme cases, swelling in the lips can last up to 14 days but can be managed by applying ice wrapped in a clean cloth such as a tea towel as often as is needed. I hope that your swelling and pain settles soon and that you are happy with your final results. With my best wishes, Dr Haus, London.
