How can I get a more prominent Cupid's Bow? (Photo)

Question

Hello, I think my upper lip needs more definition in the Cupid Bow area. I wonder what procedures would be beneficial to me, as I'm not very concerned with augmenting the size, but I do find my upper lip to be a little flat and would like it to be more defined and little bit closer to my nose. Also, would refining this area also give me a more prominent philtrum? Thank you!

Injecting the cupids bow to accentuate it is called the Paris Lip and is easily done with Restylane or juvederm as well as injecting the vermillion border of the upper lip for $550 a syringe.

I think that the overall shape and balance of your lips is very nice.  If you wanted slightly more definition in the cupid's bow, I recommend using a small amount of a soft hyaluronic acid filler such as Restylane or Juvederm.  I would not recommend doing anything that significantly alters the overall shape or size of your lips, instead, I would prefer to use a small amount of filler to give you slightly more contour and definition.  If you would like a more prominent philtrum, a small amount of either of those fillers could also be placed right under the philtral columns to provide more definition.

#Restylane is a great filler to augment the Cupid's Bow.  Depending upon how you look from the side and whether you have an Ogee curve to the upper lip, a small amount of filler under the nose can also help to make the upper cutaneous lip look smaller and more curved. Filler can also be used under the philtral columns themselves to make them more defined.

Thank you for your question.  I would agree that overall I think your upper lip has very nice definition and contour.  If you would like a little more contour I would suggest starting with a very subtle amount of HA filler.  It can provide definition to the cupid's bow area and could also help with the "flat" appearance.  Just because it is filler does not necessarily imply that you are augmenting, if used in small amounts it can just provide definition.  The other advantage of HA fillers is that they can easily be "reversed" if you do not like the results. Hope this helps.
