Hello and thank you for your question. Weight loss and the areas that should to be targeted with liposuction are two different things. Liposuction is a tool or technique to identify and target areas of disproportion in a person’s body to create the proper overall balance and proportion and improve contour. Weight loss is separate, in terms of a person dropping weight, but and should have nothing to do with balance and proportion in a person’s body. Many surgeons tell a patient to lose weight first, then have liposuction. That has never been my philosophy. I think it is the job of the surgeon to identify those areas that are disproportionate, regardless of weight and bring them down to create the right type of balance and proportion. As a person gains and loses weight, they do it in a better, balanced fashion.
I appreciate your question. For health and safety reasons, best to be at a BMI less than 30 or within 10 pounds of your goal weight and stable at that weight for 6 months prior to surgery for optimal results. The best way to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam. Please see a board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative plastic surgery. Best of luck! Vaser liposuction, also known as Vaser #lipo, LipoSelection or Liposuction, is an advanced body #contouring procedure that selectively removes unwanted body fat. An alternative to the harsh techniques of traditional liposuction, #Vaser lipo uses state-of-the-art ultrasound technology designed to gently #reshape your body. There are three types of #Vaser Lipo. Each benefit patients differently depending on their needs. However, vaser liposuction is NOT a method of #weight loss or an alternative to diet and exercise. It does not affect one's metabolism. It is usually recommended that patients who have recently experienced weight loss and massive weight loss (#MWL) remain consistent at their weight for at least six to twelve months prior any cosmetic surgery. Such will better ensure longer lasting results of the procedure without risking the fluctuation and stretching of the skin tissue. An ideal #candidate for Vaser Liposuction is a person in good health who seeks a minimally invasive way to remove stubborn fat with less downtime than traditional #liposuction. Vaser is ideal for those seeking improved definition of muscles and contouring. Those who seek increased sculpting of are ideal vaser lipo candidates. It's best to begin consulting with a board certified plastic surgery to learn if you are a candidate for liposuction. If so, you will then learn more about which #technique will work best for you and your goals. It is important you select a plastic surgeon who is #board-certified and has a great deal of experience with #vaser #liposuction. Aside from checking board-certification, it is suggested that you look at before and after photos of the surgeons actual patients, and read patient reviews. Gathering all of this information will help you make a well-informed decision. Always discuss your issues and concerns with the Plastic Surgeon during and following your consultation. Information that you read online may not apply to your personal situation.
Because liposuction is not a weight loss procedure, the best results from VASERlipo® are typically seen in those candidates who are already at or near their ideal target weight. VASERlipo® is best for fine-tuning the figure to remove love handles, a muffin top or other isolated problem spots. Reaching and maintaining a steady weight in the normal range before proceeding with liposuction should also mean you'll see superior results. Best of luck to you!
To start off, VASER liposuction is the GOLD standard and should be your first choice; VASER removes all of the fat (deep and superficial) so no need to lose weight; if you have skin redundancy, you should consider Cool Helium Plasma skin tightening as well.
Results from a fat freezing procedure are gradual - once the cells are destroyed your body will naturally eliminate them through your lymphatic system which can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months post procedure. Most patients will typically see a fat reduction of 25%-35% in the area that was...
Hi there, Sorry to hear that things are not going as you had hoped for. You do have significant fibrosis and scar tissue from your prior procedure. The best thing to do now is to try non invasive modalities that will and hopefully break up some scar tissue. You must...
Thank you for your excellent question. It is true that all forms of liposuction will result in some degree of skin tightening. Standard forms of liposuction will tighten the skin by about 7% after one year. Laser liposuction has been shown to tighten the skin by about 15% and BodyTite has...
