Hello, Liposuction is a great option to get rid of hard to lose, unwanted fat. It is hard to say if Liposuction is your best option without seeing you first, but regarding taking out "10 pounds of fat", we normally tell patients its about inches more than it is fat. For the abdomen/flank area, normally someone can lose around 2-4 inches. So around a 50% improvement rate, if not more!

Neither liposuction nor any of the nonsurgical alternatives, such as CoolSculpting, Vanquish and Thermi, are weight-loss procedures. They are designed to remove stubborn pockets of fat that do not respond to exercise; it sounds like this may be what you have. However, you need to think in terms of losing inches from your waist or hips, not pounds. Laser liposuction can make your abdominal area up to 2 to 4 inches smaller. Consulting with a board-certified dermatologist will determine whether you are a good candidate for liposuction.
