Can I get liposuction at 16 years old? (photos)

I don't offer liposuction for teenagers.  I reserve elective surgery for problems that have severe negative psychological effects on younger patients.  I wouldn't put some extra fat around the waist and abdomen in that category.  Workout, eat well, and give it a few years before considering elective surgery for that issue.

Liposuction of teenagers must be done with the consent of the parents. Although medically teenagers are probably excellent candidates one must be certain that they are psychologically good candidates as well.

    I am not sure that there is necessarily anything wrong with this based upon your description.  I do think that most plastic surgeons would recommend a few more years of diet and exercise as your body is more likely to respond than an older individual.  Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

You are still in your growing phase thus not a good idea to do liposuction until you are at least 18 years. If you tried 6 months of supervised diet and aggressive exercise and have no results than I "might" consider the lipo surgery. Again I said "might".... 

Despite your current photos, it is likely your body will continue to evolve as you mature. Liposuction at 16 is too early despite your maturity and parental consent. More often than not, you will outgrow this excess as long as you maintain a healthy and active lifestyle. There is no reason to perform surgery when the condition will resolve on its own. Best of luck.
