I am looking for a solution for my teenage daughter. Disproportionate thighs are a genetic problem in our family and unfortunately she has inherited this. She has been begging me to get this fixed. She eats an impeccable diet and she exercises. I had lipo on my thighs in my 20s and it made a huge difference in my overall body image. I have read about non-surgical options, but I am not sure if this is appropriate for her. Any suggestions? Thanks
Answer: It’s usually recommended to wait until after age 18. Although there are always a few exceptions, the majority of plastic surgeons recommend waiting for elective cosmetic surgery until after age 18. This is because the body is still developing, so any results gained through the procedure could quickly be lost as the body changes with maturity. Once overall body growth has stabilized, it’s much easier for surgeons to better gauge the best approach to take toward body contouring, as well as having the assurance that results will be long-lasting, and not require multiple follow-up procedures to compensate for further physical development.

Answer: Non-Surgical Fat Removal in a Teenager Congenital problems as you describe are one of the main indications for treating a teenager. The non-surgical fat removal devices are some of the only machines that actually work well. We use the Zerona, and it works quite well for what you describe. Removing the excess fat while quite young so the skin will contract better is also advisable. Make sure whomever you see has significant experience with the technology as they are operator dependant.
