Will Liposuction permanently affect my range of motion/flexibility?

These are all temporary normal healing processes and will go away in 3-6 months.  I have my patients only wear compression for 2 weeks then get right back to the gym.  Massaging and ultrasound can sometimes help the tightness resolve quicker.  Unless there is rippling or asymmetry, then this is something that will pass. I would suggest talking to your physician if you are concerned.  If laser was used, it may take longer for these symptoms to resolve.  I wish you the best of luck, Dr. Emer.

Properly performed liposuction has very little risk, brief convalescence, and will have no effect on athletic ability.

Numbness after liposuction is not unusual and may persist for weeks before your sensation returns to normal. At 3 weeks, the tissues will not have settled back to normal and the healing process is ongoing. Therefore, your reduced flexibility at this stage is to be expected. You will notice improvements with each passing week, but it may still be up to 2 months or more before you regain your original flexibility.
