Hello, my inquiry is regarding lip lifts- is there a particular technique, like the Gullwing Lip Lift, that will not come in to contact with the nostrils (therefore won’t alter them)? Thank you!
Answer: Lip lift Thank you for your question. While I personally think the gullwing works and best, the downside is that the scar may be more visible than desired. There's a technique called V-Y advancement using incisions on the inside of the lip that may be a reasonable alternative for you. Using this approach, tissue is moved forward to give the lip a fuller look; however, it does not reduce the length of the lip. I hope this helps, and all the best.

Answer: Lip lift Most incisions are placed just beneath the nostrils to hide their appearance. The base of the nose is made of cartilage so any incision below will not change their appearance or shape. The incision can also be resurfaced with a CO2 laser to further hid it.

Answer: Lip lift Lip lift incisions are made at the junction of the nose and lip. The scars will be hidden in the normal crease. There is no technique that does not use that. Also, the closure can be done with a running suture which will not widen the nostrils.
