I'm older (56) and my philtrum length makes me feel less feminine (19mm - base of the nasal column to the top of lip). I'm wondering about the lip lift and whether or not muscles are lifted. If I get a lip lift and only skin is being re-positioned, won't the lengthening philtrum return? Won't the underlying muscles eventually pull my lip and philtrum down again? Muscles are pulled up in a facelift, but what about a lip lift? Thank you for your expertise!

Thank you for the question. You do not have any of the features of aging. On the contrary, your upper lip is youthful and aesthetic, and a lip lift would ruin this. I hope this helps. I wish you the best of luck. Vasileios Vasilakis, MD. Double board-certified, fellowship-trained plastic...
You appear to be an excellent candidate for a lip lip. It will diminish the length of the philtral columns and provide a more full and pink lip. The distance between the base of the nose and pink of the lip should be 11-13 mm.
