Lip fillers one week ago (Juvederm) and this small bubble/blister has formed inside my top lip. Is this normal? (Photo)

Swelling and/or lumps can be typical. Icing, firm massage and cold compresses may give improvement. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

There can be some swelling and/or lumps after lip injections which can last 1-2 weeks. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 mins a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out the lumps. If you're unhappy with your final results you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer

Thanks for your question. Swelling tends to be more persistent and prominent following lip injections, so I would give it a few more weeks before judging your final results (3-4 weeks total). It is not uncommon for a needle to cause a small bubble at the point of entry into the lip. As long as the bubble is not visible to the outside without turning the lip inside out, it is quite acceptable. This bubble may or may not go away over the next few weeks and it poses no issues whatsoever. Good luck from New York City
