Flying out day after lip injections?

Yes, you should be able to fly after lip fillers. It can take up to 2 weeks for final results. I prefer to use a micro cannula to inject the lips to prevent bruising. Look for a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon who is an expert in fillers to discuss your desired results.

You shouldn't have any problems whatsoever if you go flying after your lip augmentation. Just make sure you keep your head up as high as possible at night time for the next few days to keep the swelling down. The other option is to receive the treatment while in America. There is almost always some swelling after lip injections, but you can minimize the swelling by using cool compresses for two to three hours after injection.  You will probably become dehydrated during your 15 hour flight and that will dehydrate your lips.  Ask the flight attendant for ice cubes and wrap them in a thin cloth and ice your lips every hour for 20 minutes while you are awake on your flight.  No one looks good after 15 hours on a plane and hopefully you do not have a big presentation or date when you get off the plane.  Final question, can you see your doctor sooner?All the Best and enjoy your trip.  Alexis Parker MD
