Is it okay to fly out the day after getting lip injections? I have had it done 3 times before but I'm getting them done again before flying out to America. The flight is 15hours long. Just wondering if there will be any effects besides the obvious bruising and swelling.

Answer: Lip augmentation and flying You shouldn't have any problems whatsoever if you go flying after your lip augmentation. Just make sure you keep your head up as high as possible at night time for the next few days to keep the swelling down. The other option is to receive the treatment while in America. Good luck from New York City

Answer: Lip Fillers and side effects There is almost always some swelling after lip injections, but you can minimize the swelling by using cool compresses for two to three hours after injection. You will probably become dehydrated during your 15 hour flight and that will dehydrate your lips. Ask the flight attendant for ice cubes and wrap them in a thin cloth and ice your lips every hour for 20 minutes while you are awake on your flight. No one looks good after 15 hours on a plane and hopefully you do not have a big presentation or date when you get off the plane. Final question, can you see your doctor sooner? All the Best and enjoy your trip. Alexis Parker MD
