I'm aware in Ontario that ohip will cover the costs of a capsulotomy. Are the O.R fees and operating room included in this?

OHIP only covers the cost of surgery related to breast implants when the implants were placed for reconstructive purposes. If you had a cosmetic augmentation then technically OHIP should not cover any of the revision work. That being said a lot of surgeons will perform revisions on cosmetic patients in a hospital and claim it under OHIP anyways. In this case the hospital will cover the costs of the facility fees and anaesthesia may bill OHIP as well. Surgeons often have different opinions (clearly I feel its unethical) but your surgeon may disagree so it's probably best if you discuss this with your own surgeon directly.

IF a procedure is covered by OHIP, it has to take place at a hospital as OHIP will not cover the cost of a faciliyt/Nursing etc to the surgeon.  If the procedure takes place in a hospital, the OR fees are paid to the hospital (not the surgeon thus the surgeon will not want to perform this in his/her private facility)
