Can liposculpture cause hormonal problems?

I am a 45 years old female. I had a liposculpture 2 years ago. One week after the procedure I started experiencing severe dizziness, which had been diagnosed as PPPD. I still experience this dizziness. Could it be that the liposculpture (belly and legs) has started an hormonal problem (decrease in estrogens) ? Would hormone substitution be a solution? Thanks

Can liposculpture cause hormonal in balance? Thank you so much for your question. Having lightheadedness or dizziness 2 weeks, after a liposuction procedure is not uncommon because of the shifts of body fluids. It is rarely something we will see two years after the liposuction procedure.
I believe that your symptoms of dizziness could be related to a hormonal imbalance. I think the best way to evaluate would be to follow up with your plastic surgeon to assess your results and let them know about your symptoms. and also most importantly, follow up with a primary care physician to assess all of your hormone levels.

Hello. Liposuction itself does not typically cause a hormonal imbalance or directly lower estrogen levels, since the procedure mainly removes fat cells and does not affect the organs responsible for hormone production.
However, at 45 years old, hormonal changes related to perimenopause or menopause can naturally begin to appear and may contribute to symptoms such as dizziness, fatigue, anxiety, mood changes, or hot flashes 
Since your symptoms have persisted for two years, I would strongly recommend a full medical evaluation, especially with an endocrinologist and possibly a gynecologist, to evaluate your hormone levels and overall health. They would be able to determine whether hormone replacement therapy could benefit you.
It is also important to rule out other causes of chronic dizziness unrelated to surgery, such as vestibular conditions, anemia, blood pressure issues, or neurological causes.

Liposuction involves the removal of unwanted subcutaneous fat.  Some patients experience dizziness early in recovery from fluid shifts and effects of medications.  This resolves typically within a few weeks.  Liposuction would not create hormonal imbalances.  If that is what you are experiencing it is best to work with a specialist to improve your symptoms and create hormonal balance.
